ODI snippets: Upgrade ODI 10g to ODI 11g – Cloning repositories

If you host your ODI repositories on an Oracle 11g database and need to clone the schemas during the upgrade process you must not use the export/import utility to do this.
The export utility is not supported as of Oracle 11g and you will run into an issue.
In Oracle 11g the concept of deferred segment creation was introduced. This is not supported by the export utility and as a result empty tables in your repository are not exported.
As a result the upgrade process of the repositories will fail complaining about missing tables.
The solution is to use data pump to perform cloning of repositories.
